Tono e intonazione in cinese LS. Un'analisi preliminare
Abstract
The study investigated prosodic aspects of L2 Chinese pronunciation among intermediate-level Italian learners. Through the analysis of audio recordings featuring participants reading dialogues with disyllabic target phrases in various tonal and intonational
combinations, three main production difficulties were identified: interference between tone and intonation, unclear intonational information, and unclear focus information.
Participants’ prosodic strategies differed from those of native speakers, potentially influenced by negative transfer from their L1. The research implies that, although learners may have mastered tonal combinations at a lexical level, they could face challenges in
the prosodic aspects of pronunciation, potentially compromising the production of tones within phrases.
