Analisi linguistico-semiotica dell’Italian sounding in Messico
Abstract
The essay examines the relationship between the symbolic dimension of Made in Italy and the phenomena of the so-called Italian Sounding in Mexico, where in recent years the ‘italianità’ has gained a growing capacity of attraction. Just the concept of Italian Sounding highlights some contradictions of the action of the institutions and associations of Italian entrepreneurs, who intend to fight a phenomenon that is produced in most cases by Italian emigrants or their descendants. The phenomenon, from a different perspective, could instead help the diffusion of original Italian products and contribute to the diffusion of the Italian language-culture also thanks to its usability in the teaching processes of Italian L2.
