L’italiano e i panorami linguistici del mondo

The paper aim at discuss the presence and role of the Italian language in the Linguistic Landscapes of the world and for this purpose it is necessary to start from some specific coordinates: the studies on the linguistic landscape (and the researches already carried out applied to the Italian language), the tools used and the their updating over time, the historical period in which we are living and the geopolitical situation that can also affect the position of the Italian language in the world as well as the movement of goods.
In this chapter, based on the purposes of the PRIN project, and on data collected between September and December 2021, we will try to understand the evolution of the “Italianisms in the world”. In consideration of the theoretical framework of the PRIN
project, we will use various sources, including economic ones, which will allow us to better understand the positioning of the Italian language in some areas of the world.
