Le certificazioni di lingua italiana nei nuovi panorami linguistici globali. Spunti per un’analisi quantitativa
Abstract
The paper provides an overview, based on quantitative data, of the state of L2 Italian certifications in Italy and worldwide.
The paper examines the case of the Certification of Italian as a Foreign Language (CILS) offered by the University for Foreigners of Siena, discussing data from a validation study conducted in the years 2018-2021 on the CILS examinations, specifically on levels ranging from A1 to C2. The data concern the number of candidates who took the CILS exams during that period, the number of CILS Test Centres, the trend in the number of candidates per level/type of exam, the number of CILS invigilators/interlocutors training courses held and the number of CILS invigilators / interlocutors trained.
The paper outlines for the L2 Italian certification system a state of good vitality, attractiveness, visibility, offering interesting ways of interpretation.
