Insegnare a semplificare. I laboratori di scrittura inclusiva
Abstract
With regard the difficulty, still persistent today, of obtaining clear and comprehensible institutional texts, this contribution insists on the need to involve and raise the awareness of schools, in the conviction that this institution can play a crucial role in making Italians acquire, from a young age, a different stylistic mentality than in the past. Indeed, schools have often been held responsible for training generations of young people in a ‘respectable’ and excessively sophisticated style of writing, situated at the antipodes of the linguistic transparency required in texts addressed to the public. However, since schools today have become more sensitive to the concepts of text linguistics, including that of the efficacy of a text in relation to the recipient, it is precisely in the school didactics that one can aim, possibly taking advantage of the civic education hour, to realise experiences of ‘inclusive’ writing, with the aim of producing effective texts even for recipients who do not possess an advanced competence in Italian.
